Modeling the oscillating rate of the carbon monoxide reaction with nitrogen monoxide over a rhodium catalyst

摘要
Dynamic behavior of a well-stirred reactor for the reaction of CO with NO over a rhodium catalyst was analyzed. The bifurcation analysis of the model showed that oscillations of the rate do not appear at a given set of parameters. However, isothermic oscillations exist at the level of the reactor model and can be observed under certain initial conditions. Under the conditions close to the exhaust catalyst afterburner, a periodic change in the composition of the reaction mixture at the reactor inlet may cause chaotic dynamics if an unsteady model of the reactor is considered.
