摘要
In this paper a planar microstrip antenna with dual stop-band functionality is presented for ultra-wideband application. The proposed design comprises a radiating patch and partial conducting ground and printed on double sides of FR4 dielectric substrate material. To attain dual stop band functionality, two parasitic slits are etched below the radiating element along with the ground plane. Experimental results depict that the prototyped antenna is able to achieved UWB operating band with two stop bands of 5.08 - 5.43GHz and 5.71 - 5.92GHz and thus can potentially minimise the electromagnetic interference. Moreover, the designed antenna is characterised with stable omnidirectional radiation patterns with moderate gain which makes it suitable for many wireless communication applications.
