摘要：
Faced with a shrinking numbser of federal contracts for the stare's defense industries, Florida's High Technology and Industry Council, a partnership between the government and industry, started an Applied Research Grants Program in 1986 to promote new technology development and transfer. Since then $75.8 million in private, state, and federal funds have been awarded through rbe program. Several successful commercializations of new technologies are described.
