An Improved VFC Model for the Fruit and Vegetable Image Segmentation

摘要
In the fruit and vegetable harvesting robot system, the intelligent target identification and location has not been resolved, hence the study of the segmentation algorithm for fruits and vegetables image, particularly to improve the algorithm speed, is of great significance. Based on the multi-resolution theory the improved vector field convolution (VFC) model is introduced to present a fast active contour model for the fruit and vegetable image segmentation. Experiments prove that the new model show fast speed, limits the influence of false edge and noise disturbance, and meet the accuracy and real-time requirements of the automatic robot.
