摘要
Object-Oriented Information Technology (OOIT) is a new and promising information technology to solve complex and advanced applications. In this paper, we provide an overview of the most relevant research on OOITs. We begin with a brief discussion of the promise and importance of OOIT. We then describe four technology types of OOITs, including object-oriented analysis and design, object-oriented programming, object-oriented database systems, and distributed object computing. For each type, the most important research issue is outlined. Further, the relationships of OOIT types are also presented to obtain a better learning sequence. Finally, we conclude some important points with a discussion of future research direction and marketplace in the area of OOIT.
