Audiovisual creation can have positive impacts on socio-education and improve personal and social development of juveniles in conflict with the law. This paper is an action research based on this premise. Carried out during in July 2019 with eleven juveniles in conflict with the law at the Centro de Atendimento Socioeducativo - Santa Maria/RS (CASE-SM), the general objective of this action research was to have them create an original music video, in which they could actively participate in all stages of the production process: song creation and recording, script writing and video shooting. In the theoretical framework, besides analyzing elements of the Brazilian legislation, we use studies by Libaneo (1994), Postic (1993) and Freire (2011) on creation towards an aesthetic and ethic education; Bisinoto et al's (2015) conceptualization of socio-education; papers by Barbosa & Santos (2014) and Fresquet (2017) on the audiovisual importance on education; and recent research on rap relationship with contemporary society, by Fernandes & Rodrigues (2018) and Paiva & Marques (2019. Through the creative process and interviews conducted with CASE-SM employees, we have noticed that the research participants have shown an improvement in their school performance, as well as on a personal level, such as increasing their self-esteem, self-confidence, attention and capacity for empathy.
