摘要
The aging in an electroabsorption modulated, distributed Bragg reflector (EADBR) laser was assessed using changed of Bragg wavelength as a measure of increase of non-radiative recombination. Mathematical transformation between pre- and post-aging characteristics was successfully obtained. The EADBR produces a approximately 1550 nm, 0 dBm, 2.5 Gb/s data stream in any of 20 contiguous 50 GHz-spaced channels which can be transmitted error-free over 80 km of non-dispersion-shifted fiber under closed loop control. Aging of the tuning section of the EADBR laser produced the largest effect upon wavelength and modal stability.
