摘要
This paper presents the frequency control scheme for a hybrid isolated power system with type-2 fuzzy logic PID controller. The proposed system consists of two topologies with different generation sources. The first topology consists of a wind turbine generator (WTG) with a diesel engine generator (DEG). The second one consists of a (PV) and micro-hydropower system (MHP) with a DEG. This paper proposes a novel control approach for utilizing a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) as an energy storage system to avoid frequency deviation. Electrolyzer of PEMFC absorbs a part of the generated energy from WTG/PV-MHP to generate fuel (hydrogen) for the fuel cell requirement. A comparative evaluation of frequency deviation for proposed hybrid system applying both control techniques is studied. The simulation results reflect the improvement in frequency error for the hybrid system with type-2 fuzzy PI plus D controller as compared to fuzzy PI plus D and PID controller. Performance index parameters of the transient response characteristics are also improved by using the proposed control approach.
