An empirical wave forecasting model based on the neural network

摘要：
A multiple regression model based on the neural network is applied to short-term wave forecasting. Three-layered neural network and back-propagation learning rule are used to develop the forecasting model. A series of learning data, which is necessary to construct the network, consist of difference of atmospheric pressure (input) and significant wave height (output). The forecasting models are made with respect to 4 points along the coast of the Japan Sea. The results show that the problem of the usual regression models is solved fairly.
