County involvement in the New Jersey Black Fly Suppression Program in 2001

In 2001, Warren County Mosquito Extermination Commission participated in the New Jersey Black Fly Suppression Program in cooperation with Rutgers University, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the PA Department of Environmental Protection. In response to complaints from county residents, a 10-mile stretch of the Pequest River was surveyed and treated for larval black flies. Treatment was successful and adult black fly complaints were reduced.
