摘要
Water movement of the Rhone River entering Lake Geneva. - This research contributes to understanding the movement of the Rhone inflow into Lake Geneva in summer, by field observations in July 2002. The results were, firstly, to show the Rhone entered in the thermocline, passed around the north shore of the lake by Coriolis's force, and it became clear that it reached the central level of the main basin called the "Grand Lac". Secondly, thanks to the detailed observations of CTD probe at 1m intervals, we found that Rhone inflow was divided into two or more depths, connected with the thermal staircases in the thermocline. There is a possibility that the Upper Rhone intrusion (cold and very turbid) causes double-diffusive convection.
