The principal refractive indices and nonlinear optical phase matched properties of Nb:KTP crystals

摘要
According to the supposition that the principal refractive indices are linear relation to Nb concentration in Nb:KTP crystal, we calculated the principal refractive indices of 3, 5, and 10 mol% Nb:KTP crystals for the wavelengths of 539.75, 632.8, 1079.5 and 1341.4 nm on the basis of the principal refractive indices of KTP and 7.5 mol% Nb:KTP crystals. We also obtained the Sellmeier equations of these crystals. The calculated optimal type II second harmonic generation phase matched angles of 1.0642 mu m Nd:YAG laser and 1.0795 mu m Nd:YAlO3 laser on the basis of these Sellmeier equations agree well with the measure values. The maximal deviation of these angles is no more than 0.67 degrees. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
