The law of religion and the dialectic of freedom

In this article, the author discusses conflict phenomena in the modern liberal law of religion. His analysis shows that both the state and religion need to give the concept of freedom a widely applicable meaning. It is this concept of freedom alone which will enable both to develop a productive understanding in their relationship to one another and to take into account the specific qualities of each.
