The article investigates the relationship between two concepts of A.N. Whitehead's metaphysics, as far as they are relevant for a dynamic understanding of Christian faith. First of all we want to investigate the «religious» character - in the large meaning of the term - of every experience, as far as it is a «prehension» of the whole of reality. On the other hand, we want to point out the role of God in Creative Becoming. Philosophic categories point to necessary elements of the ontological scheme, which are basically abstract. The long history of Christianity adds determination to these meanings. Out of the interplay between the resources of abstract conceptuality and historic determinations follows a reciprocal elucidation, which leads to deeper and more subtle understanding of religious experience.
