Human-interface by recognition of human gesture with image processing - Recognition of speed change and rapid reaction on motion change

摘要
In this research, we realized a human-interface for a human to specify the moving direction and the speed to a machine by recognizing the gesture of an operator to command another person to move anything to specified direction. This system constructed with a direction recognize mode and motion continuation mode. In the direction recognize mode, the bigger amplitude is selected in the amplitude of the fingertip along the two coordinate axes. And the direction which have the faster maximum velocity is selected as the specified direction. In the motion continuation mode, the motion is cyclic. On the phase plane of fingertip position, observing the trajectory of the fingertip, this system recognize whether the motion is continuing or not and the change of specified speed. This system recognizes the command of a operator at realtime and display the recognition result on CRT.
