摘要
With the increasing utility of concrete as a construction material, the major challenge is to improve the quality of construction by balancing the financials involved in the construction project. With the techno-logical advancement, there is a need for a change in using traditional old materials for construction. Raw materials used for construction are affecting the environment to a larger extent. There is a dire need to change the current scenario especially for a developing country like India. The present study deals with the advantages of utilizing the locally available alternate cementitious, fine aggregate, and coarse aggre-gate materials mainly from the metropolitan cities of India. Some of the challenges in the existing con-struction techniques will also be addressed in the present study. As there is a lot of waste generated from various industries across the country, converting the waste to a sustainable material for construc-tion should be the primary motto. (C) 2020 Elsevier Ltd.
