摘要
The effects of various cofactors on the flocculation of TMP fines by polyethyleneoxide (PEO) were studied with a photometric dispersion analyzer. In addition, the sizes of freely dissolved and adsorbed PEO/cofactor complexes were determined by dynamic light scattering. Extended polymer configurations correlated well with optimum flocculation conditions, providing evidence for polymer bridging. The results suggest that, without cofactors, PEO adsorbs on some fines but not on others, leading to asymmetric polymer bridging. With cofactors, PEO/cofactor complexes adsorb on all fins and the cofactor apparently helps to increase the strength of the PEO bridge between fines.
