摘要
The goal of the research carried out as part of the American International Health Alliance Project on the Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV was to study reproductive anamnesis in HIV-infected pregnant women in the city of Odessa. The study demonstrated the following results: Sixty percent of women had only experienced childbirth prior to their current pregnancy, 37% reported experiencing both childbirth and abortions, and 3% had only experienced abortions. In 40% of the cases, women received counseling on family planning and reproductive health. The 1999-2001 data indicated that the onset of sexual activity among HIV-infected women was more delayed and conscious as compared to that reported in 1996-1998. This is an alarming trend, which confirms that the virus is penetrating the general population.
