摘要
Results of three-dimensional (SPH) simulations of collisions between two model galaxies, each consisting of a rigid halo and a gas-rich disk component, are presented. I will focus on two topics: the gas bridges formed from shock impacts, and the gas infall out of these bridges. The bridges are predicted to have essentially no ongoing star formation, in contrast to tidal bridges but in agreement with observations of several systems. Which galaxy contributes the most gas to the bridge depends strongly on the companion orientation at impact. The companion disk is usually disrupted by the impact, but reforms via accretion from the bridge.
