Aluminosilicate mesoporous MCM-41 material was prepared and investigated as drug delivery system for famotidine. It was found that the adsorption of famotidine strongly depended on the introduction of aluminum into the mesoporous framework. Furthermore, a delayed drug release rate was obtained in this drug carrier system.
