Relativistic electron dynamics in intersecting laser pulses

摘要
We study analytically the dynamics of a single electron in the field of two intersecting planar light waves. A simple relation is found between the scattering angle and the energy of the escaping electron. The relation is valid for both P and S-polarized laser pulses and holds even for relativistically intense laser pulses when stochastic motion of electrons sets in during the interactions. The momentum and energy of escaping electrons are calculated numerically as a function of the phase difference between the laser pulses. A transition from regular to stochastic electron motion occurs when the pulse intensity increases.
