Luminescent properties of BaMg2Si2O7:Eu2+,Mn2+

摘要
Pure BaMg2Si2O7, and its europium and magnesium doped forms, have been synthesized by solid state reaction. BaMg2Si2O7 and BaMn2Si2O7 crystallize in an orthorhombic structure with the space group Ama2. The lattice constants obtained from X-ray powder diffraction are a=13.742(2) Angstrom, b=12.698(2) Angstrom and c=7.237(1) Angstrom for BaMg2Si2O7 and a=14.030(2) Angstrom, b=12.941(1) Angstrom and c=7.285(1) Angstrom for BaMn2Si2O7. The emission spectra of the Eu2+ and Mn2+ doped BaMg2Si2O7 materials appear as broad bands peaking at 400 and 690 nm respectively. The luminescent studies performed on the samples with different doping concentrations suggest that the Eu2+-->Mn2+ energy transfer takes place in the doubly doped samples.
