In the first section we wile discuss the sources of errors and uncertainties of the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) [1]. The mastery of this process depends on a good knowledge of the initialisation methodology of the CMM. Afterwards, we will propose a new method for calculating an A-type uncertainty on the probe system calibration. Our data-processing model provides automatically the value of uncertainties. This information enables a user to control the quality of the probe system calibration. The knowledge of these uncertainties is strategic because they will be propagated in all the other measurements.
