摘要
Field studies of a remmant small Spadefoot toad population (Pelobates fuscus), a declining species, provides some new elements concerning its population biology. Many features were studied, such as habitat use, dispersal patterns and reproductive biology (behaviour and fecundity). Some life-history traits (longevity, age at sexual maturity) were asessed using the skeletochronological method, which allowed age structures to be studied. Genetic structure (mtDNA) was compared between populations from declining areas and from southern areas.
