Treatment of Giant Pharyngoesophageal Diverticulum by Video-Assisted Thoracoscopy

摘要：
A 67-year-old woman presented with a giant pharyngoesophageal diverticulum (Zenker's diverticulum) that extended deep into the chest. Surgery, using either an open or endoscopic approach, was difficult. We stapled the common wall between the diverticulum and the esophagus using video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery. The patient exhibited good anatomic and functional results at 6 months' follow-up. (C) 2014 by The Society of Thoracic Surgeons
