摘要
In 2003 a 11.5 in high embankment was constructed on approximately the same site where, 17 years previously, the soft alluvium deposits of the Rizana river failed beneath the 7 in high embankment, which was being built at that time at this location. The subsoil beneath the new Srmin embankment was reinforced by approximately 12 in high stone columns in order to ensure sufficient safety during and after construction, as well as small relative settlement between the embankment and the neighbouring deeply-founded structures during operation of the motorway. The results of design calculations have been compared with the measurements performed during construction of the embankment.
