We obtain conditions for the invertibility and the Fredholm property of the difference operator (Dx)(n) = x(n) - U(n)x(n - 1), n is an element of Z, in the Banach space l(p)(Z, X), p is an element of [1, infinity], of vector sequences, where X is a Banach space and U is a bounded operator function.
