摘要
This study proposes an efficient decoupling technique for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna applications. Planar monopole antennas operating in WLAN band are chosen for the study. By investigating the field distribution on the monopoleis ground plane excited by its higher-order mode, several stable minimum current points occur along the edges of the ground. Such phenomenon is able to provide high isolation between two WLAN antennas if another monopole is placed at one of these points. Results show that the isolation can be significantly improved after a fine design by using such decoupling technique.
