A framework for component reuse in a MetaCASE based software development

摘要
Reuse forms one mechanism in improving system development productivity and quality. In this paper, a systematic framework for reuse processes and situations is suggested. The framework enables us to think reuse in a comprehensive manner in a metaCASE environment. It covers both design and method components and consists of a system development process model, type level hierarchy, reuse situation types, component granularity classification, and reuse operations. Based on an analysis of MetaEdit+ tool support, we demonstrate how reuse process can be incorporated into a metaCASE environment.
