摘要
We report the discovery of molecular gas, as traced by CO, up to 5 kpc away from the midplane of the edge-on galaxy, NGC 5775. The CO emission detected is associated with one of the H (I) supershells suggesting that molecular gas resides within the supershell. Our preliminary results show that it is difficult to explain how the gas reaches such high latitude based on energetic grounds. Some of the molecular gas, however, may have been formed in situ, possibly due to shock-compression.
