Optical properties of several synthesized complexes formed by self-assembly of pyrrol-2-yl-methyleneamines with zinc (11) ions are reported. Using a nanosecond optical parametric oscillator as the laser source, strong broadband optical power limiting performances based on two-photon absorption (TPA) have been observed in the visible region, where these materials exhibit large two-photon absorption (TPA) cross sections from 10(-18) to 10(-16) cm(4) /GW in chloroform solution.
