摘要
This article reports findings and conclusions gleaned from taped discussions with third-and sixth-grade African American inner-city schoolchildren about violent events in their communities, homes, and schools. By utilizing the triangulated methodology of ethnographers, the author was able not only to corroborate their stories but also to gain insights into the impact of these experiences on these children's school performance, behaviors, and aspirations.
