摘要：
A central facility to treat, condition and store radioactive waste was established in Austria in 1980. The facility includes an incinerator for the treatment of burnable radioactive waste. The incinerator is of the Karlsruhe type and has a capacity of about 40 kg/hr and a combustion volume of 1 meter diameter and 5 meter height. Several modifications have been made to the original design to improve safety and keep pace with technical standards. These include the upgrading of the off-gas cleaning system and some design changes to the shaft.
