摘要
A novel approach of coating steel with titanium is presented. In the first step of the process, a titanium dioxide layer is deposited onto a steel substrate by means of an appropriate deposition technique like plasma spraying or screen printing. In the second step, the titanium dioxide is converted directly into titanium metal by making use of a recently developed molten salt electrochemical reduction technique. The experimental approach applied and the properties of the coated samples produced are discussed.
