摘要
Given the substantial number of individuals with disabilities and the sheer rapid growth of the U.S. aging population, research on health disparities of older people with disabilities is vital for improving quality of life for not only those with disabilities but also society in general. Nonetheless, there has been a great lack of research on health disparities for older individuals with disabilities in the existing literature. To encourage rigorous research on health disparities for older individuals with disabilities, this article presents a thorough review of the following issues: definitions, measurement, and determinants of health disparities, and health disparities for people with disabilities.
