A mass spectrometric study of the thermodynamic properties of Al2O3-SiO2 melts

摘要
The Knudsen effusion method with mass spectrometric analysis of vaporization products was used to study the thermodynamic properties of Al2O3-SiO2 melts in wide concentration and temperature ranges. The obtained concentration dependence of the Gibbs energy of formation of melts in the Al2O3-SiO2 system is indicative of negative deviations from ideality. The activities of Al2O3 and SiO2 determined experimentally are in satisfactory agreement with the results obtained in Monte Carlo calculations and in the approximation of the ideal associated solution model of complex phases.
