Interfacial electron transfer in dye sensitised TiO2 photoelectrochemical solar cells

摘要
Determination of the kinetics of dye sensitisation is critical to the development of senstiser dyes for photoelectrochemical solar cells. In this paper we summarise our recent findings on the kinetics of electron injection and charge recombination in nanocrystalline TiO2 films sensitised by Ru-II(2,2'-bipyridyl-4,4'-dicarboxylate)(2)(NCS)(2). Electron less than or equal to 10(-12) s, while charge recombination exhibits multiphasic injection is found to occur in kinetics on the 10(-6)-10(-2) s timescales. These results are discussed in terms of their relevance to the function of photoelectrochemical solar cells.
