Using knowledge base to support decision making for prioritization of building maintenance work

摘要
Most buildings in Taiwan have been becoming aged and requests for maintenance work increase day by day. Meanwhile, budget and manpower of maintenance work are limited and even insufficient. It is important for building maintenance managers to identify urgency and importance of each maintenance task under complete and cautious consideration. This research presents a framework that integrates methods of Knowledge-based Support (KBS) and Multi-attribute Decision Making (MADM). A system prototype based on the framework was built to set priorities of the maintenance tasks automatically with help of a building maintenance knowledge base (KB). Workload of the building maintenance managers could be reduced and costs of decision-making for maintenance work could also be reduced down.
