Divalent transition metal complexes with some N-phenyl, N'-heteroaromatic thiourea derivatives

摘要
The complexes of Mn(II), Fe(II) and Zn(II) with N-phenyl,N'-(2-thiazolyl)thiourea and N-phenyl, N'-(2-primidyl)thiourea have been described. The complexes were found to have the formulas [Mn(L)(2)Cl-2], [Fe(L)(2)SO4]. 2H(2)O and [Zn(L)2]SO4 . 3H(2)O, where M = Mn-II or Fe-II and L = thiourea derivative. Characterization of the complexes has been accomplished by elemental analysis, electronic and IR spectra, conductivity measurements as well as thermal analysis. The thiourea derivatives used were found to act as neutral bidentate ligands, and the complexes assume a distorted octahedral or tetrahedral stereochemical configuration.
