c-axis oriented NdBa2Cu3Ox films prepared at substrate temperatures lower than a-axis orientation

The c-axis oriented NdBa2Cu3Ox (NdBCO) film was prepared under the new growth conditions using a pulsed laser deposition. That a NdBCO film grows at higher temperature than a YBa2Cu3Ox (YBCO) film is a drawback of composing multilayers for device applications, though NdBCO has crystalline and superconductive properties superior to those of YBCO. We successfully grew high-quality c-axis oriented NdBCO films at an oxygen pressure of 0.9Torr in the temperature range lower than that for the a-axis oriented NdBCO film, which is as low as the c-axis oriented YBCO film.
