Virtue ethics and quality meetings: A model for excellence

The authors apply the quality process improvement model, the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) Cycle, and specific practices to leverage the effectiveness of each of the four stages of meeting management: meeting preparation, conducting meetings, evaluating meetings and in-between meeting activity. Then, the quality improvement literature is linked with the organizational ethics literature by disclosing how quality meeting management shapes group character development through the exercise of intellectual, moral, emotional, social and political virtues at the four meeting stages. Finally, the authors recommend simultaneous application of the PDSA Cycle and the regular exercise of designated group character development virtues necessary to improve meeting management.
