摘要
This paper describes the design and implementation of a sampled line impedance sensor for integration in a reconfigurable power amplifier (PA). This passive network performs a complex impedance measurement that can be used to measure PA load impedance in applications where loading conditions vary. The 2-GHz prototype sensor is composed of sampling networks designed to minimize loading of the 50-ohm microstrip line. The impedance sensor is characterized in terms of measurement accuracy, matching, and insertion loss and compared to a line without samplers.
