Magnetodielectric and magnetoelectric effect in Mn4Ta2O9

摘要
Polycrystalline Mn4Ta2O9 is prepared to investigate its magnetoelectric effect, due to its specific crystal and magnetic structure. The dielectric properties and electric polarization of this compound have been carefully examined in various magnetic fields. No dielectric anomalies and spontaneous polarization is observed under zero magnetic field. While, the dielectric peak appears around the onset temperature of magnetic transition, below which finite polarization is detected. With the external magnetic field increasing, the magnitude of dielectric peak and electric polarization gradually increase, which has been discussed in the letter. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V.
