How to Analyze One Text in Both Macro-structure and Micro-structure Perspectives

摘要：
Discourse analysis is' a branch of modern linguistics which targets research efforts at texts. In this paper, one text of New College English was analyzed from the perspective of both macro-structure and micro-structure in order to help the students to grasp the content of the text and the intension of the author, and most importantly to understand the logical relationship between sentences and between paragraphs.
