摘要
The fauna of staphylinine rove beetles (Staphylinidae: Staphylininae) in early Miocene (Burdigalian) amber of the Dominican Republic is described and figured. In total, seven species are recognized representing two tribes, four subtribes, and five genera. The following taxa are described as new species: Heterothops cornelli, Heterothops infernalis, Holism funeratus, Philonthus liades, Philonthus rhadamanthus, Quedius electrodominicanus, and Neoxantholinus apolithomenus. A brief summary of Dominican and Mexican amber Staphylinoidea is provided and comments included on the biogeography of ancient Hispaniola.
