- [26] A 57-year-old male with a left middle cerebral artery aneurysm was admitted to the ICU. He was a Hunt and Hess grade 3 on presentation. He had his aneurysm coiled on day 2. On day 7, his temperature escalated to 38.8°C, and the neuro intensivist wanted to aggressively treat the fever but the neurosurgeon did not want to aggressively treat the fever due to his concern that cooling measures often result in shivering and shivering management results in sedation medications being used that blunts the neuro exam.
