摘要
This paper is focussed on the vibration mitigation of the composite pipelines. Since the pipeline walls are generally composed of many layers of material of which the VE material capable of energy absorption is suggested to be composed, the composite effect of the multi-layer of material with VE material must be taken into account in the analysis. A shell theory accounting for the transverse shear deformation and transverse normal strain is adopted and modified to analyse the pipeline walls in this study. Parameters corresponding to the geometry of the pipe and material properties are also taken into account and it is found that the inclusion of the VE material in the composite wall of the pipe may effectively reduce the dynamic motion of the pipe when subjected to the wave forces under the sea.
