摘要
Flue-gas released by industrial coal furnaces contains a considerable amount of sulfur dioxide, which may have dramatic environmental consequences. The right dimensioning of the desulfurization processes is crucial and mostly relies on empirical approaches. In order to enhance the reliability of the dimensioning method a computational model for dry flue-gas-desulfurization processes using calcium based particles was developed. The detailed design is described and numerical results are compared with data obtained from a bituminous coal fired power plant. Finally, an exemplary sensitivity analysis was conducted.
