摘要
High strain rate superplasticity was found in a super-rapidly-solidified aluminum alloy, an as-extruded Al-Si-Fe-Mg-Cu-Ni-Mo alloy fabricated by warm consolidation of its powders which was developed to be a fine-grained structure of 1.4 μm in size with a homogeneous distribution of fine Si particles of 1 μm in size. The large elongation of 275% was recorded at 1 × 10-1 s-1 and at 803K, at which a high m value of 0.5 was obtained. The superplastic strain rate for the Al-Si-Fe-Mg-Cu-Ni-Mo alloy was two or three orders of magnitude higher than that for a conventional superplastic alloy. This result shows clearly a new possibility for development of high strain rate superplasticity in a wear-resisting Al-Si alloys fabricated by super-rapidly-solidified powders.
