Crystallinity effects and phase transition on upconversion emission of monodisperse NaGdF4:Yb, Er nanocrystals

摘要
A series of small and monodisperse Yb3+ -Er3+ co-doped alpha- and beta-NaGdF4 nanocrystals with narrow size distribution were successfully synthesized via a thermal decomposition route. The emission intensity of a mixture of NaGdF4:Yb, Er nanocrystals of various phases was higher than that of a pure alpha- and beta-NaGdF4:Yb, Er nanocrystal, under same particle diameter. The upconversion emission intensity increased as the reduction of the local symmetry of the crystal lattice and the crystallinity increasing of NaGdF4:Yb, Er nanocrystals.
